mimosa01/30/02 at 15:31:38#1I am really sick and tired of hotel and restaurant food. Have you guys lived in hotel more than 3 months and eat the restaurant food every day? At first, it was very exciting , but it dies very quickly!!
I did my first cooking yesterday
I was so scared of fire, but I finally managed to learn how to use the stove ...hahah...what is my first meal? boiled corn and eggs!!
but..but....[shadow=Green,left,300]It is the first step! [/shadow]

Buddhafly01/30/02 at 16:55:09#2Re: My first cooking experience!Yes Mimosa. I have been there and done that!
There is nothing like a home cooked REAL MEAL!
Before we moved into our home we lived in the car for a few days until I couldn't handle it anymore then motels.
Even restaurant food delivered was getting gross!
Even cup-a-soup noodles was very appealing!

Buddhafly01/30/02 at 21:05:43#6Re: My first cooking experience!I do not know what I would do without my rice cooker!
Meats and fish can be fried!
What I like to do with rice is add any veggies to it. My cooker has a steamer incert in it so I can cook rice and steam veggies at the same time.
Then if I feel to I can add fried stir fry beef, or chicken.
Plus to make the rice more tasteful I can add beef broth, or chichen broth instead of water...These usually come in cans.
Also apple juice, orange juice, pinapple juice can be substituted for half the water.
Mine is called the rice cooker plus. Made by Salton

aleric01/31/02 at 04:26:21#7Re: My first cooking experience! If you have ham, macaroni and cheese, you can make a simple but tasty meal... unless you're lactose intolerant, of course. ;D I do that as an alternative to instant noodles. I can cook but I don't spend enough time doing it... just like my origami. :P

for fish , you can sauteed it with chicken stock. this should taste better than water. You can buy those canned chicken stock from the supermarket. Same goes for any meat.
Try beef , fish or chicken stock to add favour .
At the same time, add some vegetables to the stock...such as califlower, asparagus, peas, this should make a very
balanced meal for you.
Just need to slow boil everything for 10-15 minutes. ;)

ileria02/06/02 at 16:53:49#22Re: My first cooking experience!Mimosa,
So my suggestion does not work, ya?
How about eating carrot/ tomato/ shitake mushroom uncook.
U need the vitamins and mineral of these food. Moreover, these food can be eaten raw and gives u a best nutrian when uncook.
Tell us what u do not like.

may02/06/02 at 18:44:15#24Re: My first cooking experience!Cooked carrots give you 7 times more nutrients than raw carrots.
The reason is that cooking breaks down the cell walls which would otherwise be difficult for our stomach to digest.
However, do not overcook.
