I always feel that I am constantly racing with time. So much to do, but so little time. That is why I hate watch so much. I dont wear watch or any time device at all.

Most of time, I can do some TBS stuff at work because I can budget my time well. These few days, my boss is really driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o My boss had made many people quit already, and I am actually the new hire for the position. The guy before me worked for half year and quit, and he was very competent.

what my boss does is to check on me almost every 20 minutes, asking me "are you done yet?" My work speed is already one of the fastest onew in the project, but I really can not stand people checking on me every 20 minut!!!  Then, sometimes if I talk to my co-worker, he will come and look for me! I am really going crazy!!!! He was not like this before, but I guess that deadline is coming, so he is under a lot of pressure.

Boy..today is Sat, I went to work and got off not long ago. so annoying....then, March is coming. I am going to UK. UK will be another nightmare... I want this project to be over with...
then, april, I can travel....

so tired...

i can understand..i used to work  till the wee hours, because of deadlines and because my boss expected it even though he didn't say it...

sometimes, you can see the way he looked down at people who got off on time because they were fast -- for he expected them to get on with other work Ovettime..

It is admirable that you persisted in helping with the translation even though you are very busy! If i were you, I wouldnt know how to cope... :)

Pace yourself my dear Mimosa, also spend as much alone time, just relaxing.
Smiling a lot helps too.

Think of it this way, we have not had a REAL vacation away from Raff since she was 5.  This is our first weekend really that we are doing what we want.  A child demands your constant attention!  Also one cannot just quit a child....feeling better abut your situation and feeling sorry for me yet?

translation team is just one of my volunteer works, I also help out another TBS stuff. That is why I always race with time. so much work, but so little time.

today, I am really exhausted. I dont feel like doing translation
or anything...so tired..... think of my boss's mean face makes me puke!!

My contract will end on March...that is what I keep telling myself....after that..I need a nice and long vacation!

hmmmm........Mimosa, you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself  ;)

From your icon " i deserve a better life " , i can tell you are
thinking that.

hey, i believe you can manage your time and life if you want to. Don't push yourself too hard to do everything and you
will start feeling more relax.

Of course, i don't like that kind of boss you have right now......breathing down one's neck and so controlling.

But you are not alone in this kind of work stress  :)
Nowadays, the MNC environment demands one to work
like a machine......overtime is expected, sacrifices of one's
family time is also expected. The only reward that you get
is monetary and the benefits of a MNC.

Besides, you can still look forward to a break in April. Think of those kidneys patients who have to go for a dialysis 3 times per week just to cleanse their blood thru a machine, tie down there for 4 hours per session , else they will die immediately.

How about these poor people ? They have absolutely no choice but to live on like this, forever being tied to a
dialysis machine and financially ruined.

While look at you  ;D  You can live in good hotels, eat good,
live well , just need to work your butts off for that few months, and then you are free again.

;D

Hi Mimosa,

Just a silly comment:

Why don't you check on HIM every twenty minutes and see if he likes it?

LOL...

Just kidding, hope it made you laugh  :P

"I deserve a better life" was my trademark :-) I use it for about 6, 7 years already. For a while, many TBSN members imitated me. Know your good friend Sally? She would put "I deserve a sweet life" :-) There were all kinds of copycats..haha, the authentic one is "I deserve a better life".

Lately, my company execuated a few layoff plans. Some of my co-workers had already laid off. I know that I am fortunate enough to still have a job.

However, after being monitored by my boss every 20 minutes
and worked on long Sat, I was really not so happy.

I certainly do know that I am luckier than a lot of people
otherwise I wont get involved in so much volunteer works.

Hmmmmm.....you still get to have Sunday off  :)
Most burn their weekends off. Projects basis job is forever
that taxing. It literally burn up one person.

Mimosa, i do have a few people telling me that I deserve a better life even though i am contented with what i get so far.  ;)

I am a easily contented person, so i find it strange when
someone goes around saying I deserve a better life ,
especially when i see that you are a fortunate person
with your career.  ;D

But i hope you feel better now after pouring out your
laments to us. Now get back to work ......kekekekekekeke.....

Mimosa,

That's not good then if he likes to talk with you every 20 minutes.  Is there anyone who is above him in status that you can complain to?  You can simply state that he is interfering with your work by constantly checking up on you to talk.  If no one is above him, maybe you need to tell him directly. It's just a bit too ridiculous...

I remember a funny email I got once:
Put mosquito netting around your work area and play a tape of jungle sounds all day, LOL.

He'll think you're nuts!

Smile  ;D

He doesnt check on me every 20 min now. I basically stayed at my cubic and dont go anywhere. My cubic is  right across to him...so he can check on me every minute now! haha

These days, project  deadline is coming up. I have to work so hard, today I came back home about 9:30 pm. I am very exhausted...
