A few days ago I had a brief thought. I thought about an acquantance I had met a few years ago. This person was small and skinny. He had got into a lot of gang-related trouble. He had made a lot of threats and bad comments. As a Buddhist, I try not to cause trouble or offend people so I tried to stay out of his way. Sometimes we exchanged brief sentences. One night I lent my car to my friends. When they returned the car my mini disc player was stolen. They claim that it was stolen by corrupt cops but what happened that night is still a mystery. I am somewhat in disbelief of that story. I even accused this person in my mind of the one who stole my discman. So when I thought of him, it was very strange because I had not seen him in two years. And when I thought of him, thinking that he might have stolen my minidisc player I thought that one day cause and effect will fulfill itself. The next day I found out that this person was stabbed to death. Although cause and effect fulfilled itself, I do not believe a persons life is worth it. What is weird is that I thought of this unlikely aquantance and the next day he died.
I feel sorry for this person because he was so young. Only a teenager! I even took a picture with this person which is also very weird as I never take pictures with my friends. I feel I have an affinity. Should I help this person or not? I have read many scary stories with Grandmasters experiences. That is why I am scared because this person had a lot of hatred and anger in him.

Celestialmaiden.
I can only tell you what I would do.
I would take refuge for that person and help them.

About 10+ years ago an hometown aquanitance of mine died.
We always knew each other and I think we even started Kindergarden together.  Yet we were never friends, nor enemies. Everyone in my town knew everyone else.  When I returned to my hometown grownup and my life had changed considerably, we met at a beach one night.  He actually greeted me for the first time.  That was it though.

A few years later he was married and had a child on the way.  One night he was skidooing home from his parents, and he had been drinking and he hit the back of a truck head on.  He was decapitated.  This was a horrible way to die.

Since I took refuge, he comes to me in dreams for help.
Even Grand Master Lu could not help him. My childhood aquaintance now lives in a very mixed up dream like world.

I still attempt to help yet there is not a lot I can do.

It is interesting that he was able to find the one person he knew that could possibly help after he died.
Yet karma plays in everything.  Just knowing a person is karma.

If you are uncomfortable to do it, send me the specs and I will.  I have no worry for things like this, I have been doing this for so long.

Okay, I will try to help then. What do you need for refuge? I don't have an address. Only a name.

Hey Jackie,
Is it that Jason or Paul Mui guy?  I read it in the newspaper today.  I'm very sorry to hear about this.  Please, try not have too many things tie you down from moving.  That's a lesson in life, in Buddhism.

CelestialMaiden.  A name, and his date of birth., when he died and where he is buried.  The date of birth part should be easy to find out.  Fill out the refuge form as you normally would, ask a Llama for help because he is dead.  Specifically say on the bottom of the form that you want the certificate send to you.

If you do not have a Master coming there soon, send it here to Master Lian Zhi
Explain the circumstances, and send the refuge form and offer a donation.

Name, date of birth, when he died, where he is buried.
That should be enough.

Master Lian Zhi will do the refuge for you.

Our temple address is:
Chin Yin Buddhist Society
To: Master Lian Zhi
