Dear members
First of all, I would like thanks Tom again for his endeavor in creating such a beautiful website for us. It has been a great pleasure to work with him. He is a self-motivated and highly competent web designer.
Phrase II comes a little bit early than what I have expected because we have not actually completed phrase I. Our main goal in phrase I is to provide a simple interface while training our translators and editors. However, as we gather more articles, it is simply eye hurting to read the articles online. Thanks for Tom's design, now people can read translation at ease.
We must shift back our focus back to our original goal in phase I. What was our goal
--train new translators and editors.
I want to take the opportunity to explain the system of Padmakumara and role of each position
Translator: translate article from Chinese to English
Editors: rewrite and revise English articles
Proofreader: provide quality assurance on the final draft.
As you can see, the system is setup to rely heavily on the Editors. When I receive the article from the Editors, I expect a well-written, total make-over paper from you. In TBS, there are just not enough students with good English and Chinese demand. Editor plays a very important role in the team! Your job is basically converting a Cinderella to Princes to me :-)
Arica has been vigorously recruiting new translators. When they turn their paper to you, Editor, the real challenge comes! Please prepare yourself well for it. I wish that you will enjoy the challenge as much as I do, you will find the task very rewarding at the end!
