In a dream, my husband Bert found himself in what was like a very large Turkish bath. Everywhere there were mirrors, the walls, ceilings, and floor. He felt much disoriented because of the mirrors all around. When he saw the young monk on all the mirrors as all the reflections were of the monk. He attempted to localize the original monk not the reflection because he knew better than to talk to a mirror.
Finally, he located the monk. The monk walked towards him, smiled, and bowed. He said to Bert, your Prajna knew better than to think that the reflection in the mirror was me. That is why you searched for the real me although the real me is still a reflection of your mind like anything else in reality. The lesson is that we treat everything in the mirror equally by not trying to grab it, so we should do the same in our daily lives.
We should not cling or grasp to anything not even emotions because they are a reflection of the mind. They do not exist. It is by understanding that will help one to treat everything with equanimity in our daily life.
Today Bert conveyed that he felt he knew the monk for a very long time, like a brother.
