Hi, all,

Just another question: If say usually I do my daily chanting and I dedicate the merits to my debtors and attached spirits. Now, say I vowed to chant 200000 times mantra to dedicate to someone, could I continue to do the daily dedication of merits to attached spirits and debtors, or I would need to start a new series of chanting specifically for my vow?

Xin Kai,

You can write a letter to Seattle or contact your local chapter to be sure about this.

I once asked a Master a similar question and she told me to dedicate a certain percentage of my dedication merits to person a, person b, attached spirits, etc.  get the idea?

If it's more important for you to transfer merits to your attached spirits, then dedicate the larger percentage to them.

Lu

i assume dedication to persons, attached spirits or any personal matters is done only after dedication to Grandmaster and all Buddhas, Boddhisattvas, Vajra Protectors, Earth God?

Hi,all,

     Thank you for yr replies!!
Lu, it is a very refreshing thought abt dedicating certain percetage of the merits to yr debtor spirits, then to person a, to person b,...etc.
I never thought that it could be done this way.:))
Jessie, what you say is very good too, I usually only dedicate to my debtors and attached spirits and did not dedicate to GM, Buddhas and bodhisattavas, vejra protectors, earth god..etc.
In any case, thanks for the replies, they have been helpful!!

Regards
Xin Kai

I always knew you could dedicate merits to others such as Grand Master, Dharma Protectors and such. I haven't dedicated too many merits to my attached spirits which I will start doing eventually. The problem was, Grand Master is well, Grand Master. He's already achieved enlightenment. He has supreme wisdom. He has a lot of money. What more is there to ask for?

Then I received information that he was being sued for sexual harassment. Since then, I have been praying everyday that the case will be solved and he won't have to deal with anymore cases like this again. By the way, if anyone has any up to date information on this case I'd like to hear it. I feel silly if the matter has already been settled.

I heard that the rumour-mongers didn't want to go on with the case -- i think they dun have evidence. I think they just want to spread poisonous words against GM...

anyway,I usually do my merits this way: may the merits of this cultivation session be dedicated to Grandmaster -- I wish that he will come out of retreat soon and be with us again.....

just hoping that many people will read this post and do the same, so that the wish comes true!!

:)

Hello Jessie,

Did you read the story in the newspaper? How did you find out?

I know there is a Bi-Annual Bardo ceremony in Redmond. Doesn't Grand Master Lu usually attend these ceremonies? And doesn't he usually attend the Saturday ceremony at the Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple (when he's in town)? I know he's in "retirement", but shortly after his "retirement" I thought he attended several "temple openings" and attended a couple Dharma ceremonies as well. So the way I saw it, he's semi-retired.

My personal opinion, I think he should stay retired. I think he'll have a longer life this way (taking on the karmic hindrances of the sentient beings has a way of shortening one's lifespan). As Master Lu says, "to be alive to meet a living Buddha is very rare and precious indeed!" The longer Master Lu lives, the better the chances we are going to meet him. And the better the chances of our children and grand children have to meet him as well!

Sigh, I guess u are right about GM's retirement...

To tell the truth, I only saw GM in person once at the Hong Kong Kalachakra ceremony, and that is at a distance! Other times, only on VCDs and streaming videos over TBSN. I wish I could talk to him face-to-face at least once... :(

anyway, about the court case, i thought i heard it somewhere, but i can't remember where and when...dun have black and white

I think that GM will come back and will come back soon .

As a Buddhist, I have so much to learn from him. I have seen him many times, but never enough.

He will be back. We all have been praying for his coming back

Only once I was able to meet with Grand Master in an "intimate" setting where one would be able to just "chat" casually with one another. As I made my way into the room I saw him talking with another master (I think). Someone introduced me and I didn't say a word. Grand Master peered over and said, "What kind of camera is that?" (I had brought a disposable Kodak camera with me). I think I asked Grand Master if I could take my picture with him and then we stood side by side (took a snapshot) and then I left. I wanted to stay and chat but "invisible forces" ushered me from the room (actually it was a monk). I never got to say a word. I don't even know what to say if I met him again. I am kind of disappointed. It's hard to muster up the guts to go up and talk to him.
