Dear all, actually, this is an email I sent Brenda asking for some feedback... after some discussion, we decided that this email should be made available to internal members so that they could give feedback or help benefit others.
(edited to make more clear)

I had just finished a three-day course, when I met this person with whom I exchanged pleasantries. and then, the inevitable question, "what do u do during free time?"
I said feebly: "read sutras of buddhism..." (I was trying to reveal very little without lying)
He was surprised and started saying that although he is an atheist, he reads buddhist texts too, but he is more interested in techniques of breathing and visualistaion during his meditation. He was talking about cosmic powers and lights and stuff like that
I was quite curious because if he is an atheist, how can he practise something that sounds so tantric buddhism. So I asked him whether or not he is under any guru, or anything like that.
He said there are two types of gurus: one inside him, one on the outside. He believes the one on the inside will connect with the cosmic powers and will guide him; external guides would be masters, etc who come to give regular talks at his centre (he calls it "Healing Centre").
He said someone with higher insight within his congregation told him he has 11 guides who are always helping him. He said, right now, he is onto healing meditation -- he would visualise green light enveloping him as a form of protection from some divine power up there, and how this green light will eventually reach his root chakra and spins. He also said that green lights would manifest beside his body and enter...
He started telling me about something about rainbow meditation which i gather is meditation on various colors. (because he was saying about visualising violet lights, then yellow lights, blue lights etc in sequence, from the divine up there giving him the energy)
I was quite shocked because, if he doesn't have a guru, all these guides may not be the correct ones. And green light is definitely not something to trifle with... anyway, I outline how different my meditation practice -- that one should always has a guru as a form of a teacher. I illustrated my point with how different my process of entering samadhi is..I was trying to put across the fact that guru is impt without offending him about his practice, but he seems very fixed on his ideas about two types of gurus. He seems convinced that one is a guru by himself and that the cosmic planes movement can affect the trials and tribulations that one experienced throughout life... (anyway, I should never have revealed my meditation practices to other people -- cos it is a secret, is it?)
Anyway, I just wanna highlight that there are lots of practices out there which appears right, but are actually not.I thought I would ask anyone here, who has knowledge of such practices. 'Cos to me, such practices misguide people and could cause damage, esp not all entities out there may not be "nice".)
I remember Grand Master said that there are gonna to be practices around which would not be "true" ...
I am quite concerned..anyway, he started drawing some mandalas for me because he said he could feel some psychic connection with me. Quite touching because he actually took the trouble to draw, but I don't think it's right..the mandalas looks weird...
Anyway after the course, I thought I would not approach him or anything. Even though he is in the same
environment with me, and I would inevitably see him even though we are in different departments.
Interestingly, this inclident happen after I made vow to GM that I would use TBS practice to "save" sentient beings. Talk about timeliness...but I don't think I can do anything because he is so closed-minded...I think I will leave everything to GM...GM will know how to reach him!
(I didn't want to put this in public brecause I am afraid because this man uses the web quite often and would find this entry).
