A response after chanting Usnisa Vijaya mantra

Hi, all, :))

    I have just spoken to a dharma sister in Singapore and she has this Usnisa vijaya mantra response to share:

    This Dharma sister(let's call her Yvonne) decided to go to the local earth god temple(not a TBS temple) to pray and to chant 108 times Usnisa Vijaya short mantra and burn mantra papers.

    So, she and her brother and another friend (let's call him Mr alan)went to buy stacks of TBS Usnisa Vijaya mantra papers and other mantra papers (also from TBS).

    They bought 6 types of mantra papers in 6 big bags. In 1 bag there are 24 stacks of  mantra papers.So , altogether, they bought 144 stacks of mantra papers.

    With the mantra papers, they went to the temple to chant.

    Yvonne, her brother  and Mr Alan began to chant 108 times (one round of chanting beads)Usnisa Vijaya short mantra.
    They decided to chant silently as this is a Taoist temple and it is not good to make a commotion.
    While Mr alan was chanting with closed eyes, he suddenly "hear" that it is raining heavily outside.
    He opened his eyes and saw that it is still a sunny day.
    So , he closed his eyes again to return to his chanting and suddenly he saw hundreds and thousands of spirits , in human form , entering the temple, one batch after another.
They packed the temple to full house!!    

    After the chanting is finished, the trio went to  burn the mantra papers.

    They have brought so much mantra papers that they used nearly 3 hours to burn all of them.While burning the mantra papers they noticed that the sun is shining very very brightly , just like light emitting from Usnisa Vijaya bodhisattava!!
   
    Later that night , Mr Alan had a dream, he dreamt that he is at a place with a person that looks like Yvonne.
 
    Yvonne ( a spirit ) told him : " One piece of mantra paper save one spirit, one hundred pieces of mantra paper save one hundred spirits."

    At this point , another "person" ( it seems like the Dharma protector) appeared and told him :" By completing this deed,you and your two friend's spiritual fruit (achievements) has multiplied many folds."

    The spirits are well aware of the power of this mantra.

     Its good to know that by chanting the mantra and burning the mantra papers, we could save thousands.

    Hurrah to Usnisa Vijaya mantra!!

P.S. Mr alan actually did not have empowerment for chanting the Usnisa Vijaya mantra and he also did not complete 100000 times Guru's mantra.
   So, on the very day, the dharma sister faxed a letter to seattle requesting for empowerment for Mr alan and they proceed to the temple to chant.
   I think we could all learn from the true story above and start to help the spirits!!

i think it is very good of the trio to have such bodhicitta...

in case anyone wishes to do the same, pls be advised to do your vajra protection first and ask for Grandmaster's strength first.

   Yes,  you are right, I admire their Bodhicitta too.

   Also , there are other issues in the true story:

  There are ppl who said that only Usnisa Vijaya long mantra is effective.Ms Yvonne said that this is not true.

    She feels that the Buddhas and Bodhisattavas knew that there are many ppl in the world who does not have the time or place to chant long mantras and therefore the short mantra
is imore convenient , which could reach many more ppl  and to let many more ppl to begin chanting.

     Once you chant , you would get the benefits. I think this is what the Buddhas and bodhisattavas want: which is to clear and burn away as much of our karma as poss,it does not matter whether it is long or short mantra, the merits are the same.

     Secondly, Ms Yvonne said that it is important to chant without expectations. She said that their wish is simply to chant the mantra and burn the mantra papers.That's all.no other motives.

     The attitude is to do it and let it go.

      Thirdly, my own "discovery" is that now I realised that one piece of mantra paper equates to one life saving vehicle in the spirit world.For a long time, i was wondering how the mantra papers could help.Now,I know this is how it helped.

Those of you who know me, willl know that I joke even when I am being serious, and  I am serious even when I joke. I also like to make up stories.
One time (not really) I was at fire offering ceremony. One of the people I was with tossed a packet of 'hell money' onto the fire. The other guy said, "That is just play money! Not real! It means nothing!"
So he pulled out his wallet and tossed three crisp new hundred dollar bills onto the offering fire.
Me.....I wrote a check for three million dollars and threw it on there. ;)

Wow i like this story:) Please post the short version for me so i can write it down and chant a couple round myself....and of course dedicate it to everyone.

you meant the Usnisavijaya mantra? did you ever get the empower?? you lived in seattle, and I think that you did...just wonder..

as far as the mantra, Luljeta can tell you, she is a big fan of that buddha :-)

If you got the empowerment in Seattle then you can definitely chant the mantra.  As long as you received the mantra empowerment from our other Vajra Masters, you can chant the mantra.

Ya know i deeply regret not going to that particular ceremony... oh well too bad for me, im going on leave in mid febuary and i can ask one of the masters to give me the empowerment.
