Hello all.
I received this today. Please give me some ideas on how to answer it.
Thanks.
Brenda
Dear padmakumara team
i appreciate your reply to my email! Thanks for your help. I thank you for telling me I could send a letter to the master, but I would still prefer to meet the Sheng-Yen Lu. I believe I have had enough now, I don't want to read or write anymore. So please, with all that i am, I am asking you if you could write this NOTE to the master and put it somwhere where he can reach it for sure:
DEAR SHENG-YEN LU,
you don't know me and I don't know you. I have tried to wirite you over the internet but they told me you were unreachable and in seclusion on retreat. And I don't even know what that means...I just want to meet you!
I want you to know I am not a religious person although i did tried some meditation...i read you have many many followers but i am not interested in that...I just love traveling and meetnig new people and something inside is telling me it would be wonderful to meet you spend a little time with you!

This person is simply rude.
He doesnt even have the basic manner. Even if GM was not a Living Buddha, GM still needs to be treated with basic respect.
does this guy have a common sense?
which part of "unreachable" he doesnt get it?
Luljeta may give you a better advice. I dont like rude people.

Does this guy have common sense?
This is so far off the wall, I wonder if someone is pulling your leg. Is it a bad joke? I wonder if we have common sense to think he/she is serious!
But, since we don't know, and need to act as if maybe this is a serious request, "Just say no" comes to mind.
This is not something we can do, and not something we would do. GM is choosing what he is doing - we are not imposing on him, or interfering with his retreat.

I agree..I really dont have much patience when comes to people like this.
well, Brenda...but we have to polite :-P
so, just write back again and said that GM is in retreat and not available.
after that, dont reply any more demanding email from him.
enough is enough

Yes, Mimosa and Dance are right. He is being disrespectful to our Grand Master. Maybe he is unaware of it. In that case, he needs to learn basic principles of honoring, respecting, and treasuring the Guru.
You could start your letter out with something like this:
Dear xxxxx,
As a second request, please be advised that Grand Master is living in seclusion from administrative and worldly affairs. He is on a spiritual retreat. Not even his closest disciples can have contact with him.
Although Grand Master may seem kind and friendly to all, he is still our Guru and the founder of True Buddha School. He should be revered as such and should be treated with respect.

Sincerely,
xxxx

Thank you all.
He is from SLOVENIJA, EUROPE.
Wherever that is.
I think there may be a communication/understanding
barrier with him and TBS.
What do you all think?

His English seems on the fluent side.

jessie07/02/02 at 20:43:59#8Re: Need help to answer emailalthough he is rude, i tend to think his rudeness springs from ignorance and ego, not because of anything else. Ignorance about what Grandmaster stands for, etc. Maybe we can send him a pdf or a booklet that details GM and TBS (is there a translated booklet by Janny Chow on some Q&A fielded by GM about himself and TBS? I think I read it before -- in this way, it sorta answers his desire to meet up with GM? )
I was thinking: there are a lot of people out there who, because of supremacy in mundane knowledge, assumes an egoistic and rude persona, but that doesn't mean they are rude because they disrespect GM; they are rude because they are ignorant of GM. The really rude and disrespectful ones are those who knows GM and slanders GM.
The fact that he has heard of GM means there is some sort of affinity...Maybe on our part, we can pray to GM and ask GM to appear in that guy's dream and answer his questions? That way, we will have one more disciple for GM!
