Regarding The Science of Tai Sui Enshrinement, besides chanting what can we do to help ourselves?

mimosa08/28/02 at 17:07:07#2Re: The Science of Tai Sui Enshrinement I used to take Tai Sui lightly until bad things kept happening to me. I talked to a few people, and they had the same experiences.
This year is bad year for horse. My mother has all kinds of problems with her health **worried** Same as other people I know.....
Tai Sui is horrible....I am very afraid ot it. What I do is that I try to register ceremony and burn paper money to avoid bad luck.

Mimosa.
Is this more for the beginning of the Chinese New Year?
I am thinking for family members that are having bad luck.
Can one burn paper now for them and dedicate it to them?
Thank you.

Your temple should have one and Seattle has one. Please register your family and burn more paper money for it. This is a important ceremony

That wouldn't happen to be the
Ullambana Bardo Festival Celebration Ksitigharbha
Purification, Blessing, and Bardo Deliverance Ceremony
would it? If so it was last weekend. I only had time to register and make a small donation for food because of the
Ordination ceremony just before. I did get the empowerment that was offered. I wish someone would tell me what that was for exactly.
If that is the one ceremony you are referring to then I can register quick somewhere else.

##dear, that is why you should always check the schedule that people post online :-) Especially Sep is very important, people know it is the ghost month. Many some of your dharma sister/brother will go to seattle, ask them to bring the form for you
if not, it is okay, your temple has the bardo already anyway right?

##I thought that you have been Chinese for all these years :-)
NOw, you know! Make a mental note that July of the Chinese lunar calendar is the ghost month.

There may be other donation forms posted elsewhere, but the ones I was able to find were from Purple Lotus Society (URL below) -
I used their Bardo form to register for the Redmond Bardo, and they were happy enough. They just need the information on a flammable piece of paper, and accept many forms other than their own.
I spent the afternoon after the ceremony burning money! There was a lot to burn.
Brenda - I met your new monk friend.
I am just slowly figuring this all out. I thought I was doing well to actually register! The money part I wasn't prepared for. The Purple Lotus Society form has a place to specify how many bundles of money to include - it looks like they take care of that part for you (?). The Redmond form does not include that, so I didn't use it. I think they depend of people to take care of the money part on their own.
I think I need very rudimentary instructions - this is what you do, when, how, why. I actually think I understand the why part better than the practical part.
It was interesting burning all the money (there were still major stacks of bags of money after several hours of burning) because there are so many different "denominations" of money - many more than were scanned for us to post.

##Yes, pls form is very comprehensive
care of that part for you (?).
#yes, as long as you specify it

##yup, but I have seen people to manually write it down and tell the rev.
whichever way is fine, as long as you specify it clearly.
burning paper money is great....dance..I also bought a lot!!

Dance.
It seems like you had an interesting time.
I am happy you met Doug.
Did monkhood seem to agree with him?
Please tell us about the ceremony and how everything went for you.
Thank you.
