How is everyone's practices going?
I find, that sometimes when I visualize, the visualization will
not stay still.
Usually I do my best to ignor it, although it can be discouraging. Sometimes it is because my energy is off and I just jump over some paper money and it's fine again. I also use the method described in the back of the new Household Feng Shui book.

Lyciss09/17/02 at 02:44:35#3Re: Difficulties in practicesBren,
can you post the page in the book that gives the solution to a scattered visualization for me and for others that might come by and benifit from it?
i know for me sometimes my visualizations are scattered too or more difficult... i usually just try to spend more time then when its difficult and go really slow... not helpful in all cases when time is depending...

jessie09/17/02 at 05:45:23#4Re: Difficulties in practicesyes, please, brenda!
i find it hard to concentrate...sometimes my thoughts just stray, and i constantly have to be vigilant and tell myself, "dun stray ". it takes a lot of effort
darrellmc09/17/02 at 11:15:42#5Re: Difficulties in practicesI think that I can answer some of these questions from experience. The harder you try, the less successful you will become. It is like the old bet. "I'll bet you a hundred dollars that you can't go one minute without thinking about an elephant." Of course, you can't because you will be constantly checking yourself to see if you are thinking of an elephant, and there you go! Instead of trying to concentrate, let distracting images or broken visualizations come and go naturally, just like any other thoughts during meditation. Don't look to see where they came from nor look to see where they went. They will always pass, and over time, will come less and less often. Don't struggle with them. If you acknowledge them at all, do it quietly and simply with a thought, like "passing" or "gone". The visualization is complete and already there. If you don't pay attention to the little clouds passing by, things will clear up. But visualization is also a skill. I don't know if it will be helpful to everyone, but I once did a thing where I sat quietly looking out across the landscape, not thinking about it....just watching. Then I would close my eyes and visualize the scene. Then I would open my eyes, close and visualize, open, close and visualize, in repetition. It got so that sometimes, if I was really quiet, I had to reach up with my finger to check and see if my eyes were open or closes. I forgot! :)

Denboey.
I jumped 3 Times over Golden Mother paper money. They sell it at temples usually in bundles of 7 different kinds. I visualized Grnad Master Lu shining white light on me while chanting OM MANI PADME HUM.
Lyciss and Jessie.
I no longer have the Household Feng Shui book, as I gave it away. If anyone else has it please post the part that I am referring to.
Thank you.

piggy09/25/02 at 02:25:27#7Re: Difficulties in practicesHi bren!
What method is that described in the book of houshold?
I am interesseted. Sometimes it's hard for me to concentrate
but I am drawing the buddha's and the boddhisatvas which I
am visualizing. This method makes me visualize the buddha
very easy. And if I loose concetration I think of the time while
I draw the buddha, so I can bring back every detail in my visualization.
well hope this was useful

Vicky.
I have searched the net for it to no avail.
It is very similar to what we do after the purification mantra's in our practices.
Drawing the Buddha's and Bodhisattva's is a great idea!
I have many pictures of Grand Master Lu in my home and even as my wall paper on my P.C., this I find useful as well.
Please if anyone has the Household Feng Shui book please let me know.
Thank you.
