piggy09/27/02 at 10:22:03#1Hello all,
I wonder what to visualize while chanting the High king sutra?
do I need to visualize all the buddha's named in the sutra?
Do I need to visualize white light washing away my neg. karma? or do I need to visualize Kuan Yin?
Or do I need to know the exact meaning of the sutra?
just like discribed in "an overview of the buddhadharma"
thank you

It really depends. If you just recite the high king sutra alone, you may want to visualize the buddhas.
If you recite the high king sutra in the practice, I wont suggest you to visualize every buddha, that is too tiring, is it?
If I were you, I would just sincerely recite it while visualizing Kuan Ying radiates light to eradicate the bad karma
happy cultivation!

a few steps later in cultivation ...
Visualize your left hand becoming a vajra bell which symbolizes wisdom. The right hand becomes a dorje which symbolizes compassion. The head bead of the counting beads represents the Many Jewels Buddha Pagoda. The four sectional beads symbolize the Four Regions Heaven Vajra Protectors.
? What is the Many Jewels Buddha Pagoda?
? Who are the Four Regions Heaven Vajra Protectors?
hard to visualize what you don't know....
[Mimosa - this was my phone message, but that was even more garbled, exposing more ignorance. I am confusing Four Regions Heaven Vajra Protectors, Four Heavenly Kings, and the Jambala Brothers, all mixing together. I thought if I just talked to you, not as many people would have to know how little I really understand! I think I won't sign this post, so no one knows who it is from....]

#no question is ignorant!
I am confusing Four Regions Heaven Vajra Protectors, Four Heavenly Kings, and the Jambala Brothers, all mixing together.
#Four Regions Heaven Vajra Protectors= Four Heavely Kings
are the same. They have all kinds of names! Buddha name is a very confusing subject!!
Read this
The four heavenly kings are the guardians of the world who reside on the slopes of Mt. Sumeru in the heaven named after them from whence they are each responsible for one of the four cardinal directions. Each leads an army of supernatural creatures who help them keep the fighting demons (asuras) at bay.
and this
Deva-raja Vaisravana (Well-known/Famous Deva King) is the Guardian of the Northern Direction and the lord of yakas. His kingdom is located on the northern side of Mount Sumeru. He is known for being the wealthiest of the Four Directional Guardians. Brahma rewarded him with great wealth after he had long practiced meritorious deeds and austerity. Vaisravana is often worshipped in his wealth deity form (the Yellow Jambhala).
All Four Directional Guardians have wealth deity representations. They grant aid to those who are spreading and/or protecting the dharma. If one is fortunate enough to receive aid from any of the wealth deities, one should use most of the wealth to help spread the dharma or for charitable causes. This allows one to preserve the blessings in the form of good karma and meritorious deeds. Using the wealth to indulge in sensory pleasures will only plunge one deeper into samsara
and more for you

but, white/red/black Jambhala are not one of the 4 heavenly kings though
