First of all, thanks for taking up the task!

Now, let me tell you more about the project. Basically, you got a go already from PLS. However, KC wanted me to tell you a few things

#1 do spelling check
#2 read it through carefully to pick up the obvious mistakes
for example, on the practice of 21 tara, there is only 20, you need to correct that.

that is what we need to do
#1 go through your files
#2 double check. If you need help, ask other members to help you out.
#3 send me the checked version and I will post on the forum for you. That will help readers and us in case if there is is any mistake. We should do that soon so we can provide people practice procedure! quite important.
#4 give GM full copyright credits
#5 give PLS full credits

I will convert the file to html files eventually. But, you need to convert them pdf first. Do you know dreamweaver? if you do, you can help on the html as well. Very easy actually.

pdf needs to have bookmark  and read-only feature.

thank you!

Mimosa

I have to say this here and not on the public forum but, thank you very much Mimosa for posting the practices today.  So many people will be grateful.

THANK YOU!!!  ;D

Hi Everyone,

I am proud and happy to take on the challenge of converting all the PLS pamphlets I have into HTML and PDF format.

I have a lot of ideas as to how to go about converting the files into PDF pamphlets.  But for now, I will focus on posting the pamphlets into HTML so that everyone can quickly access the information and put them to use.

However, even converting the files to HTML is not an easy task as I thought.  My drive for perfection is probably slowing things down a bit.  It just has to be PERFECT!

I will post some when they are web-ready.

Thor12/01/02 at 06:23:55#6Re: Practice Project
No problem Mimosa.  In fact that was the first PLS pamphlet that I have been experimenting on the padma.site in regards to text formatting and cosmetic look and feel.  What you see on the padma.forum is also identical to the Pagemaker files I received from KC.  For this particular pamphlet, I do not know who translated the Vajrasattva Yoga.

The Vajrasattva Yoga I am posting is text only, because I need you to add in the images  ;), if you want to use it.

I have corrected the Twenty Taras to Twenty-One Taras.  As for other erros, I need the assistance of everyone to find/point them out.  Of course I will correct the ones I can see, i.e. spelling mistakes.

3. Great Homage using visualization

First Homage to the Buddhas of the Ten  Directions

Use Shrine Mudra4 and perform the following:

(i)  Touch the brow point and visualize white light entering the brow  point (purifying the body).

(ii) Touch the throat and visualize red light entering the throat (purifying speech).

(iii)Touch the heart and visualize blue light entering the heart (purifying the mind).

(iv) Visualize a prostration before all the Buddhas.

(v)  Bring the mudra back to the forehead and release.

Second Homage to all Bodhisattvas

Use the Lotus mudra5 and repeat (i) thru (v) above.

Third Homage to the Dharma Protectors

Use the Diamond Handclasp Mudra6 and repeat as above.

Fourth Half-bow

Use Universal Mudra7.  Bring the mudra to the brow and perform a half bow.

Then release the mudra at the forehead.

This bow is offered to all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Dharma Protectors, and Devas.

4. Mandala Offerings

Form the Offering Mudra.

Interlace fingers (with hands back to back) so palms and fingers face upwards.

Hook index finger of left hand over middle finger of right.

Hook index finger of right hand over middle finger of left.

Hook thumb of left hand over middle finger of right.

Hook thumb of right hand over little finger of left.

Manipulate ring fingers so they stand vertically, back to back.

Visualize the offering multiplied to first form a row, then multiplied again to form a field, and multiplied once more to fill all  space.

This space filling offering is dedicated to the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Dharma Protectors above and to the beings of the Six Paths below.

After clearly visualizing this offering, recite the Offering Mantra:
Om, sa-er-wa, da-ta-ga-da, ee-da-mooh, gu-ru la-na, man-cha-la, kan, nee-lee-ye, da-ye-mee.

Then, bring the mudra to the brow, and release.

5.  Recite the Fourfold Refuge Mantra (3 times)

Namo Guru bei,

Namo Buddha  ye,

Namo Dharma ye,

Namo Sangha ye.

While reciting Namo Guru Bei,  visualize Grand Master Lu radiant and appearing in space before and above oneself;

for Namo Buddha ye, visualize all Buddhas of the ten directions radiant and appearing in the space;

for Namo Dharma ye, visualize all Buddhist scriptures radiant and  appearing in the space;

for Namo Sangha ye, visualize numerous sanghas and sages radiant and appearing in the space.

After reciting the Fourfold Refuge Mantra three times, visualize the Four Refuges merging together,

transforming into a brilliant revolving light which  arches over to enter one’s body through one’s crown,

filling the body with a mass of light.  Hindrances and negative karma are expelled from one’s body as black smoke through all skin pores.

One’s body becomes crystal clear, radiating light.

6. Armor Protection

Form Diamond Handclasp Mudra before the forehead.

Recite the mantra of Vajrapani:

Om, bo ru lan ze lee (7 times)

After the recitation, bring the mudra to touch the brow point, then throat, heart, left shoulder, and right shoulder, then back to the forehead.

Then visualize brilliant blue light  radiating from the mudra.  Release the mudra and visualize  four , blue light rays extending, one to the left, one  to the right, one directly backwards and one to the front.  Each column of light becomes a Dharma Protector.

7. Recite the High  King Avalokit-esvara Sutra   (Recite 1 to 3 times)

Homage to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva!

All beings in the Central Realm,

and those in the Pure Lands,

while moving upon the Earth and through the Heavens,

shower limitless compassion upon all living beings,

affording them equanimity and peace,

that they might cultivate day and night.

By constantly invoking this sutra,

one is liberated from the suffering of birth and death,

and freed from all the many kinds of suffering.

Chanting this sutra continually, the Seven World-Honored Buddhas recite this mantra:

Lee-poh-lee-poh-deh, kyo-ho-kyo-ho-deh,

toh-loh-nee-deh, nee-ah-la-deh,

pee-lee-nee-deh, mo-ho-kya-deh,

jen-len-chen-deh, so-ha. (7 times)

8.Recite the  Rebirth Mantra8 (7 times)

Na-mo A-mi-doh-poh-ye, doh-ta-ga-doh-ye, doh-deh-ye-ta, A-mi-lee-doo poh pee,  A-mi-lee-doh seh dan poh pee, A-mi-lee-doh pek-ga-lan-deh, A-mi-lee-doh pek-ga-lan-doh, ga-nee-nee ka-ka-la, ji-doh-ka-lee, so-ha.

9. Recite the Four Immeasurable Vows

May all beings have  happiness and the causes of happiness; this is immeasuarable loving kindness.

May all  beings be liberated from suffering and the causes of suffering; this is immeasurable compassion.

May all beings be free of suffering  and always  stay  happy; this is  immeasurable joy.

May all beings be free of grasping  and aversion towards others and develop faith  in the equality  of all who live; this is immeasuarable equanimity.

Recite the Bodhicitta Mantra:
Om, bo-dee-gee-da be-dza, sa-ma-ya, ah-hum.  (Three  times)

10. Recite the Repentance Verse and Mantra:

All my transgressions committed since time immemorial,

which originate in beginningless greed, hatred, and stupidity,

And which are manifest through my body, speech, and mind,

these I fully confess and repent of them altogether.

Recite the Repentance Mantra:

Om, bedza, sa-ma-ya, soo-deh-ah.

(this mantra can be recited as  many times as possible.)

At the end of the Repentance Mantra, one can dip one’s fingers into some Great Compassion Mantra Water (Water that is empowered through the recitation of the Great Compassion Mantra, usually 49 times) or Kundali Raja Mantra Water and sprinkle the water to the four quarters of east, south, west, and north. One then also takes a sip of the water to purify the center. (The water should be prepared ahead of time.)

11. Vajrasattva Yoga

Form the Mudra:

The right hand holds a fist, with the thumb outside the fist. The left hand holds a fist, with the thumb inside the fist.  Place the right fist before one’s chest and the left fist on one’s left thigh.

Visualization:

Empty the mind.

Visualize from the empty space the appearance of Vajrasattva.  His body is white, and he is adorned by a Five-Buddha Crown and the bodhisattva ornaments, necklaces, etc.

Sitting on a Moon Disc supported by an eight-petalled lotus, the Vajrasattva holds, against his heart, a vajra scepter in his righthand (in the Fierce Mudra) and, by his left thigh, a vajra bell in his left hand (also in the Fierce Mudra).  At the level of his heart is a recitation wheel containing, around the circumference, the Hundred Syllable mantra.  This wheel revolves and radiates brilliant white light.

This great white light arcs over and down, pouring through one’s crown and flooding one’s entire body.  Thus, one’s whole body also exhibits a great white light, and impurities and negative karma are expelled as smoke through all skin pores.  One’s body becomes crystal clear, radiating light.  One enters a state of joy in meditation.

Recitation:

Recite the Vajrasattva Hundred Syllable Mantra  twenty-one times.  (It is not necessary to hold the Mudra during recitation.)

Om, be-dza, sah-do sa-ma-ya, ma-nu bah-la-ya, be-dza sah-do deh-lu-pah-deh-cha, zhe-jo mi bah-wa,

soo-do ka-yu mi bah-wa, soo-poo ka-yu mi bah-wa,

an-nu-la-do mi bah-wa, sa-er-wa, sid-di, mi bu-la-ya-cha, sa-er-wa, ka-er-ma, soo-cha mi, ji-ta-moo see-li-yam,

gu-ru hum, ha ha ha ha hoh, bah-ga-wan sa-er-wa,

da-ta-ga-ta, be-dza, ma-mee mun-cha, be-ji ba-wa,

ma-ha sa-ma-ya, sah-do-ah, hum, pei.

One can visualize Vajrasattva transform into a point of white light which enters one’s body through the crown of one’s head and rests on the heart.

The body, mind, and speech of Vajrasattva become the body, mind, and speech of the practitioner. The two are completely merged and united into one.

The practitioner is transmuted into Vajrasattva.

In this moment of utmost importance, if one can, indeed, let one’s body and mind turn completely into “Emptiness,” then the Supreme Spiritual Consciousness will definitely enter into oneself.  In other words, there will be the total union of the Supreme Consciousness of the Universe with the inner Light of oneself.

12. Nine Round  Buddhic Breath and Entering Samadhi

Beginners who are not trained in the practice of the Nine Round Buddhic Breath and Entering Samadhi may try to quiet their mind with the breath counting method, i.e., directing all their mind to counting exhalations, or simply practice the full cycle breathing.9

Nine Round Buddhic Breath:

Sit still in the Seven-fold posture of Vairocana.10  Visualize that your body is pure and transparent like shining crystal, with three “subtle energy channels” as follows:

The central channel  begins at the place which is about four finger widths below the navel (called the dan-tien in Chinese), and  ascends and opens up like a  trumpet inside the skull but is sealed from the outside.

The left and right channels also begin at the dan-tien, but branch off to each side and ascend parallel to the central channel to the level of the crown, then curve down to end in the respective left and right nostrils.

Now visualize before you brilliant white light, perhaps as the exhalation of your Guru (or your Personal Deity), and perform the nine-round breath by following these steps.

Each breath should be very slow, smooth, deep, and complete.

1.    Visualize white light enter the right nostril. Here it becomes red light and descends the right channel to enter the left channel at the dan-tien; then, still as red light, it ascends the left channel to exit the left nostril as dark smoky light.

2.    Visualize white light enter the left nostril. Here it becomes red light and descends the left channel to enter the right channel at the dan-tien; then, still as red light, it ascends the right channel to exit the right nostril as dark smoky light.

3.   Visualize white light simultaneously enter both nostrils, trans-form into red light, descend down both side channels and enter the central channel at the dan-tien, ascend to the top, then return to dan-tien to enter both side channels,  exiting as dark smoky light at both nostrils.

4.    Breathe in through left nostril and out at the right (as in 2).

5.    Breathe in through right nostril and out at the left (as in 1).

6.    Breathe in and out through both nostrils (as in 3).

7.    Breathe in and out through both nostrils (as in 3).

8.    Breathe in through right nostril and out at the left (as in 1).

9.    Breathe in through left nostril and out at the right (as in 2).

The entering and exiting of light should be controlled by the mind. When white light enters through one of the nostrils (or dark smoke exits at one of the nostrils), visualize the other nostril to be closed.

At this point, one can enter into deep meditation.

13. Recite Principal Heart Mantras

(Amitabha Buddha)

Om, a-mee deh-wah, seh

(Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva)

Om, ma-nee pad-mee, hum.

(Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mantra that purifies fixed karma.)

Om, pun-lah-moh lin-toh-lin, so-ha.

(Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Heart Mantra)

Om, ha ha ha wei sam-mo-deh, so-ha.

(Maha Cundi Bodhisattva)

Om, dze-lee dzu-lee zhun-teh, so-ha.

(Jambhala)

Om, Jum-bah-lah, chah-lan chah-nah-yeh, so-ha.

(Padmasambhava)

Om ah hum, be-dza, gu-ru, beh-ma, sih-dee, hum, seh.

(Padmakumara)

Om ah hum, gu-ru-bei, ah-ho-sa-sa-ma-ha, Lian-sheng sih-dee hum.

(Medicine Buddha)

Deh-yah-tah, om, beh-ka-dze-yah, beh-kah-dze-yah, maha beh-kah-dze-yah, la dza sah mo kyah-doh-ah, so-ha.

14. Intone

Homage to the 36 trillion 119 thousand and 500 Amitabha Buddhas. (3 times)

15. Dedication

May all who uphold the name of Amitabha Buddha

Be born together in the Pure Land of His Western Paradise.

Repaying the Fourfold Generosity from above11

And aiding those who suffer in the Three Paths below12.

Upon seeing the Buddha

May I be liberated from the cycle of birth and death;

And may I develop the qualities of Buddhahood

And thus free all who suffer13.

As a True Buddha Practitioner, I dedicate this merit on behalf of everyone, that all may be healthy, free of hindrances, strong in cultivation, and that all circumstances  may become auspicious.
(At this time, one may silently make one’s dedication.)

May all supplications be completely fulfilled.
(Leader or solo  practitioner raises vajra scepter in the right hand and draws a circle, whose trace is visualized as fire radiating red light.)

May all hindrances be removed.
(Leader or solo practitioner raises vajra in the right hand, points to the air where a wall of darkness is visualized.  Then the leader or solo practitioner forcefully intones “Wun” twice, at the same time ringing the vajra bell in the left hand and visualizing white penetrating and dissolving the darkness.

16. Great Homage using visualization

(i) First  Homage to the Buddhas of  the Ten Directions (use the Shrine Mudra)

(ii)  Second Homage to all Bodhisattvas (Use the Lotus Mudra.)

(iii) Third Homage to the Dharma Protectors (Use the Diamond Handclasp Mudra.)

(iv) Fourth Half-Bow (Use the Universal Mudra.)

17. Recite the Vajrasattva Hundred Syllable Mantra (three times)

“Om, be-dza, sah-do sa-ma-ya, ma-nu bah-la-ya, be-dza sah-do deh-lu-pah-deh-cha, zhe-jo mi bah-wa, soo-do ka-yu mi bah-wa, soo-poo ka-yu mi bah-wa, an-nu-la-do mi bah-wa, sa-er-wa, sid-di, mi bu-la-ya-cha, sa-er-wa, ka-er-ma, soo-cha mi,  ji-ta-moo see-li-yam, gu-ru hum, ha ha ha ha hoh, bah-ga-wan sa-er-wa, da-ta-ga-ta, be-dza, ma-mee mun-cha, be-ji ba-wa, ma-ha sa-ma-ya, sah-do-ah, hum, pei.”

18. Completion Mantra

Om, bu lin. (3 times)

Om, ma-nee pad-mee, hum.

Footnotes

1Before the beginning of the practice, it is recommended that practitioners sit quietly for a few minutes to regulate their breathing and concentrate their minds.  They may also visualize their relatives, ancestors, friends, enemies, creditors, and all beings in the Six Paths - gods, humans, asuras (anti-gods), hungry ghosts, animals, and hell beings joining in the practice.

2All transcriptions of mantras are based on Grand Master Lu's pronunciation.

3These are the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas invoked at the Purple Lotus Society Shrine.  This list will vary depending on the shrine one is practicing at.

4Join the palms together with ten fingers pointed up and brought together. Between the hands a slight space is left.

5Join the palms together with fingers pointed up. Then open the palms so that only the bases of the palms, the entire thumbs and the entire little fingers meet. The other fingers are spread out straight but as widely as possible, like an opened lotus.

6Join the palms together with fingers pointed up. Spread out the fingers of each hand just enough to interlace the fingers of each hand at the third joint, with the right thumb over the left and each finger of the right hand over the corresponding finger of the left hand.

7The tips of the index fingers meet and point upward.  The tips of the thumbs meet and point horizontally.  Finally, the other fingers interlace each other in parallel, with palm facing oneself.

8This mantra increases one's affinity with Amitabha's Pure Land.

9By full cycle breathing we mean to breathe calmly, slowly, and deeply (approximately 6 counts for  each inhalation and  6 counts for each exhalation). The air should reach the dan-tien (four finger widths below the navel) at the end of each inhalation.

10One should assume the Seven-fold posture of Vairocana as follows: sit in full lotus position with the feet crossed and locked, resting upon the opposite thighs, with hands forming the Meditation Mudra or in balanced position.  The spine should be straight as an arrow; lower the chin; the tongue touches the upper palate; and eyes are focused on a single object.

11One may visualize Amitabha and his retinue appearing above the Fourfold  Generosity.

12One may visualize three black circles which represent the realms of hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals.

13One may visualize lights from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas shining on every being, including those in the three black circles.  Their negative karma is purified and the space is filled with radiant light.

Thor12/01/02 at 23:51:50#9Re: Practice Project
Yes there is practice called the Guru Yoga.

It is a good thing you ask for it because it is in the Series 2 pamphlet and I would have eventually published sometime in 2-3 weeks.

What I have posted it restrictly in plain text for you to review/see.  I will add-in formating tags later to make it look a bit more like the orginal.  If you want the PDF version now to review, let me know I can email that to you.  OK?

does not need refuge when practicing in a group.  See the inside
cover on how to take refuge. )

1. Purification

Bring palms together and recite1:

Om Mani Padme Hum.

Recite the Purification Mantras2

(Speech Purification)
Om, syo-lee syo-lee, ma-ha syo-lee, syo-syo-lee,  so-ha.

(Body  Purification)
Om, syo-do-lee, syo-do-lee, syo-mo-lee, syo-mo-lee, so-ha.

(Mind  Purification)
Om, fo ri la dam, ho ho hum.

(calling the local Earth Spirit  to guard the place)
Namo sam-man-do, moo-toh-nam, om, do-lo do-lo de-wei, so-ha.

2. Recite the Evocation Mantra

Om ah hum, so ha. (3 times)

(This is to evoke all deities residing in the shrine.  While
reciting the   “hum    ”syllable, visualize in the heart a  white
lotus flower  holding the seed syllable “hum  ”.  From this a beam of
white light arises and ascends  through one’s crown, merging into
space.)

3. Great Homage using visualization

First Homage to the Buddhas of the Ten  Directions

Use Shrine Mudra4 and perform the following:

(i)  Touch the brow point and visualize white light entering the
brow  point (purifying the body).

(ii) Touch the throat and visualize red light entering the throat
(purifying speech).

(iii)Touch the heart and visualize blue light entering the heart
(purifying the mind).

(iv) Visualize a prostration before all the Buddhas.

(v)  Bring the mudra back to the forehead and release.

Second Homage to all Bodhisattvas
Use the Lotus mudra5 and repeat (i) thru (v) above.
Third Homage to the Dharma Protectors

Use the Diamond Handclasp Mudra6 and repeat as above.

Fourth Half-bow

Use Universal Mudra7.  Bring the mudra to the brow and perform a
half bow.  Then release the mudra at the forehead.  This bow is
offered to all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Dharma Protectors, and Devas.

4. Mandala Offerings

Form the Offering Mudra.
Interlace fingers (with hands back to back) so palms and fingers
face upwards.  Hook index finger of left hand over middle finger of
right.  Hook index finger of right hand over middle finger of left.
Hook thumb of left hand over middle finger of right.  Hook thumb of
right hand over little finger of left.  Manipulate ring fingers so
they stand vertically, back to back.

Visualize the offering multiplied to first form a row, then
multiplied again to form a field, and multiplied once more to fill
all  space.  This space filling offering is dedicated to the Buddhas,
Bodhisattvas, and Dharma Protectors above and to the beings of the
Six Paths below.  After clearly visualizing this offering, recite the
Offering Mantra:

Om, sa-er-wa, da-ta-ga-da, ee-da-mooh, gu-ru la-na,          man-cha-
la, kan, nee-lee-ye, da-ye-mee.

Then, bring the mudra to the brow, and release.

5.  Recite the Fourfold Refuge Mantra       (3 times)

Namo Guru bei,
Namo Buddha  ye,
Namo Dharma ye,
Namo Sangha ye.

While reciting Namo Guru Bei,  visualize Grand Master Lu radiant and
appearing in space before and above oneself; for Namo Buddha ye,
visualize all Buddhas of the ten directions radiant and appearing in
the space; for Namo Dharma ye, visualize all Buddhist scriptures
radiant and  appearing in the space; for Namo Sangha ye, visualize
numerous sanghas and sages radiant and appearing in the space.
After reciting the Fourfold Refuge Mantra three times, visualize the
Four Refuges merging together, transforming into a brilliant
revolving light which  arches over to enter one’s body through one’s
crown, filling the body with a mass of light.  Hindrances and
negative karma are expelled from one’s body as black smoke through
all skin pores.  One’s body becomes crystal clear, radiating light.

6. Armor Protection

Form Diamond Handclasp Mudra before the forehead.  Recite the mantra
of Vajrapani:

Om, bo ru lan ze lee (7 times)

After the recitation, bring the mudra to touch the brow point, then
throat, heart, left shoulder, and right shoulder, then back to the
forehead.  Then visualize brilliant blue light  radiating from the
mudra.  Release the mudra and visualize  four , blue light rays
extending, one to the left, one  to the right, one directly backwards
and one to the front.  Each column of light becomes a Dharma
Protector.

7. Recite the High  King Avalokit-esvara Sutra   (Recite 1 to 3 times)

A-mi-lee-doh pek-ga-lan-doh, ga-nee-nee ka-ka-la, ji-doh-ka-lee, so-
ha.

10. Nine Round  Buddhic Breath and Entering Samadhi

Beginners who are not trained in the practice of the Nine Round
Buddhic Breath  and Entering Samadhi may try to quiet their mind with
the breath counting method, i.e., directing all their mind to
counting exhalations, or simply practice the full cycle breathing.10

Nine Round Buddhic Breath:

Sit still in the Seven-fold posture of  Vairocana.11  Visualize that
your body is pure and transparent like shining crystal, with three
“subtle energy channels” as follows:
The central channel  begins at the place which is about four finger
widths below the navel (called the dan-tien in Chinese), and  ascends
and opens up like a  trumpet inside the skull but is sealed from the
outside.
The left and right channels also begin at the dan-tien, but branch
off to each side and ascend parallel to the central channel to the
level of the crown, then curve down to end in the respective left and
right nostrils.
Now visualize before you brilliant white light, perhaps as the
exhalation of your Guru (or your Personal Deity), and perform the
nine-round breath by following these steps. Each breath should be
very slow, smooth, deep, and complete.
1.   Visualize white light enter the right nostril. Here it becomes
red light and descends the right channel to enter the left channel at
the dan-tien; then, still as red light, it ascends the left channel
to exit the left nostril as dark smoky light.
2.  Visualize white light enter the left nostril. Here it becomes
red light and descends the left channel to enter the right channel at
the dan-tien; then, still as red light, it ascends the right channel
to exit the right nostril as dark smoky light.
3.   Visualize white light simultaneously enter both nostrils,
transform into red light, descend down both side channels and enter
the central channel at the dan-tien, ascend to the top, then return
to dan-tien to enter both side channels,  exiting as dark smoky light
at both nostrils.
The entering and exiting of light should be controlled by the
mind. When white light enters through one of the nostrils (or dark
smoke exits at one of the nostrils), visualize the other nostril to
be closed.
At this point, one can enter into deep meditation.

11. Recite Principal Heart Mantras

(Amitabha Buddha)
Om, a-mee deh-wah, seh

(Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva)
Om, ma-nee pad-mee, hum.

(Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mantra that purifies fixed karma.)
Om, pun-lah-moh lin-toh-lin, so-ha.

(Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Heart Mantra)
Om, ha ha ha wei sam-mo-deh, so-ha.

(Maha Cundi Bodhisattva)
Om, dze-lee dzu-lee zhun-teh, so-ha.

(Jambhala)
Om, Jum-bah-lah, chah-lan chah-nah-yeh, so-ha.

(Padmasambhava)
Om ah hum, be-dza, gu-ru, beh-ma, sih-dee, hum, seh.
(Padmakumara)
Om ah hum, gu-ru-bei, ah-ho-sa-sa-ma-ha, Lian-shen sih-dee hum.

(Medicine Buddha)
Deh-yah-tah, om, beh-ka-dze-yah, beh-kah-dze-yah, maha beh-kah-dze-
yah, la dza sah mo kyah-doh-ah, so-ha.

12. Intone
Homage to the 36 trillion 119 thousand and 500 Amitabha Buddhas. (3
times)

13. Dedication

May all who uphold the name of Amitabha Buddha
Be born together in the Pure Land of His Western Paradise.
Repaying the Fourfold Generosity from above12
And aiding those who suffer in the Three Paths below13.

Upon seeing the Buddha
May I be liberated from the cycle of birth and death;
And may I develop the qualities of Buddhahood
And thus free all who suffer14.

As a True Buddha Practitioner, I dedicate this merit on behalf of
everyone, that all may be healthy, free of hindrances, strong in
cultivation, and that all circumstances  may become auspicious.

(At this time, one may silently make one’s dedication.)

May all supplications be completely fulfilled.

(Leader or solo  practitioner raises vajra scepter in the right
hand and draws a circle, whose trace is visualized as fire radiating
red light.)

May all hindrances be removed.

(Leader or solo practitioner raises vajra in the right hand, points
to the air where a wall of darkness is visualized.  Then the leader
or solo practitioner forcefully intones “Wun” twice, at the same time
ringing the vajra bell in the left hand and visualizing white
penetrating and dissolving the darkness.

14. Great Homage using visualization

(i) First  Homage to the Buddhas of  the Ten Directions (use the
    Shrine Mudra)

(ii)  Second Homage to all Bodhisattvas (Use the Lotus Mudra.)

(iii) Third Homage to the Dharma Protectors (Use the Diamond
Handclasp Mudra.)

(iv) Fourth Half-Bow (Use the Universal Mudra.)

15. Recite the Vajrasattva Hundred Syllable Mantra (three times)

“Om, be-dza, sah-do sa-ma-ya, ma-nu bah-la-ya, be-dza sah-do deh-lu-
pah-deh-cha, zhe-jo mi bah-wa, soo-do ka-yu mi bah-wa, soo-poo ka-yu
mi bah-wa, an-nu-la-do mi bah-wa, sa-er-wa, sid-di, mi bu-la-ya-cha,
sa-er-wa, ka-er-ma, soo-cha mi,  ji-ta-moo see-li-yam, gu-ru hum, ha
ha ha ha hoh, bah-ga-wan sa-er-wa, da-ta-ga-ta, be-dza, ma-mee mun-
cha, be-ji ba-wa, ma-ha sa-ma-ya, sah-do-ah, hum, pei.”

16. Completion Mantra

Om, bu lin. (3 times)

Om, ma-nee pad-mee, hum.

Footnotes:
1Before the beginning of the practice, it is recommended that
practitioners sit quietly for a few minutes to regulate their
breathing and concentrate their minds.  They may also visualize their
relatives, ancestors, friends, enemies, creditors, and all beings in
the Six Paths - gods, humans, asuras (anti-gods), hungry ghosts,
animals, and hell beings joining in the practice.
9White, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green.
10 By full cycle breathing we mean to breathe calmly, slowly, and deeply (approximately 6 counts for  each inhalation and  6 counts for each exhalation). The air should reach the dan-tien (four finger widths below the navel) at the end of each inhalation.
11One should assume the Seven-fold posture of Vairocana as follows: sit in full lotus position with the feet crossed and locked, resting upon the opposite thighs, with hands forming the Meditation Mudra or in balanced position.  The spine should be straight as an arrow; lower the chin; the tongue touches the upper palate; and eyes are focused on a single object.
12One may visualize Amitabha and his retinue appearing above the Fourfold  Generosity.
13One may visualize three black circles which represent the realms of hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals.
14One may visualize lights from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas shining on every being, including those in the three black circles.  Their negative karma is purified and the space is filled with radiant light.

Internal Fire Practice:

(This is an optional practice that the practitioner may do after the Nine Round Buddhic Breath or can do as an independent practice at other times during the day.)
Sit still in the Seven-fold posture of Vairocana, regulate your breathing.
1.    Visualize the left, right, and central energy-channels inside  your body, and then concentrate on the dan-tien, the intersection of the three channels (four finger  widths below the navel). Here is a tiny “” (half seed syllable “ah”). If you  cannot visualize the  Sanskrit, just treat it as a tiny spot of red light. At first, this tiny “”, or red spot, is very tiny and is vibrating.
2.    Visualize this tiny red spot as the original element of  your life force. It can be called your “spiritual consciousness”. Cultivators call it “life element” or “spiritual element of life”.
3.    Using full cycle breathing1,  breathe in through both  side energy-channels  and visualize air going down to the dan-tien. That is, you are fanning the tiny red spot with the air drawn in, like fanning a flame.
4.    After each full cycle breath, visualize the red spot being fanned by the air and becoming redder, hotter, and bigger. When exhaling, visualize black smoke exiting your nostrils.
(One inhalation and one exhalation equals one breath.)
5.     After ten such breaths,  visualize the flame reaching the navel chakra (energy center).
6.    Ten more breaths, the area around the navel becomes warm.
7.    Ten more breaths, the lower part of the body becomes warm.
8.    After another  ten breaths, visualize the flame reaching the heart chakra, and that region becomes warm.
9.    After another ten breaths, visualize the  flame reaching the throat chakra, and that region becomes warm.
10.  After another ten breaths,  the flame reaches the brow-point chakra, and that region becomes warm.
11.  After another ten breaths, the flame  reaches the crown chakra, and that region becomes warm.

Footnote:
1 By full cycle breathing we mean to breathe calmly, slowly, and deeply (approximately 6 counts for  each inhalation and  6 counts for each exhalation). The air should reach the dan-tien (four finger widths below the navel) at the end of each inhalation.
