All I can find under "Mahakala" is that he is a Dharma protector.
What is the reason we use the stickers or plaques of him to put above our doorways?

2). Do we use them above both back doors and front doors?
3). Are there any special "manta's" etc that one has to use before?
4). Do they have to be blessed by a Master first like other objects?
Thank you.

##yes, but if you can afford it, it should get the plague.
2). Do we use them above both back doors and front doors?
##usually, just front door
3). Are there any special "manta's" etc that one has to use before?
# Need to choose a special date to hang it. Please consult with your local master
4). Do they have to be blessed by a Master first like other objects?
#Yes, must! actually, it needs to be open-eyed!

I found out a little more on this which is:
Master said that the special day is called Elimination day on the Chinese Calendar.
The plaque or sticker , after being consecrated by a Master is then hung up, three incence are lite and the prayer is: May the protector stay and protect my house.

I found out a little more.
I had my door protectors blessed.
On September 2.2002 3PM, 4PM
September 5.2002 9AM, 1PM, 3PM, 4PM
With incence in hand say OM AH HUM SO HA 3 times,
for purification, around vajra clockwise.
Then chant Om Guru Lian-Sheng Siddhi Hum many times visualizing Grand Master Lu shining bright white light on top on me the door protector ect, while hanging the protector.
If anyone has anymore to add to this please do.
Master didn't say to do the prayer or use 3 incence this time so I feel a little confused.
Thank you.

Gene Dixon09/02/02 at 17:57:24#9Re: Door ProtectorGreetings all....
I was able to find some infromation relating to the protector Mahakala. While I can not verify the accuracy of the information presented, I am happy to share it.
The guardian deity Mahakala assisted the Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel all his life, and in all conflicts he was involved in, whether it was battling the pre-Buddhist local deities, or against various hostile local rulers.
The wrathful apparition is an emanation of Buddha Akshobhya. Mahakala is one of the most important guardian deities of both the Drukpa Kagyupa school of Buddhism and the Bhutanese state. In his raven-headed form, as Legön Jaro Dongchen, he was the personal guardian deity of the Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and nowadays of the royal Wangchuck dynasty. The raven-head adorns the crown of the Bhutanese monarchy.
In Bhutan Mahakala is seen as a protective deity without the territorial limitations of the local mountain gods. Frequently he is described as the overlord of all the mountain gods. The relation of Mahakala to the other mountain gods is comparable to that of the central power towards the local leadership structures before the unification of the country.
Well anyway, I hope that this is useful to the conversation...
