Dear Dharma Brothers & Sisters,

Upon reading the newest article of GM published in TBN ed. 399, my heart wrenched in agony and sadness...

GM has fallen ill, more serious than I imagined... In TBN 398, GM had already revealed that he was ill. It then seemed as if it was an ordinary cold. The new article revealed otherwise. If it was an ordinary cold, with GM's mental power of stability and tolerance, he wouldn't even bat an eyelid. But this is different. He confessed that he is in great pain and suffering, he cannot sleep nor eat, his body is alternating between high fever and cold, his limbs are weak, he can hardly walk, shivering all over, his head spinning, his vision blurred, his blood pressure has risen, he's nauseous...

The illness has affected his daily routine, his practise, his visualization. He is praying for all the pain to end swiftly. He feels as if he has done everything he could in this world, his only wish is to pass on swiftly. He feels that he is now 58 years old, and that is more than enough.....

Let us all pray earnestly for GM's well being, transfer all our daily merits to him, so that he may swiftly recover from his illness, and prolong his stay in this world of samsara. May GM quickly regain his health, his happiness and his tranquility. May he continue to propagate Buddhism and liberate sentient beings in this samsara world.

I know..I read that article and could not sleep for one week already..

especially when I was in Flordia, I missed GM more. I went to the same places he went, and wondered what he was thinking and feelings...

i really wish that GM will get recovered soon....

Ive been practicing Medicine Buddha yoga and doing visualizations in the practice... i dont know if its effective but my visualizations are far more vivid than in other practices... the steps dont even have to come with concentration like they do with other practices... they move fluidly and without even thought... ive been visualizing myself as the medicine buddha and the bowl i hold is emiting blue smoke that covers Grandmaster... i feel very peaceful in this visualization... twice a day i practice the yoga... i might increase it as suggested in the sutra to 6 times a day...
however i am also following the entire practice liturgy even reciting the Medicine Buddha Sutra, which is not short...

i know Grandmaster is a Buddha but i dont like knowing that he has to suffer such an illness... it shouldnt be like this...

lyciss,
i believe that GM actually shouldered a lot of karma on our behalf. Do u know, in one of his books, GM said he helped a ghost even though the ghost has an irrevocable karma to pay? He revealed that he may have to come to earth again because of this act. But he knows what he is doing, because he stands by his vow to save all sentient beings even if it meant breaking his body and crushing his bones!

such is the greatness of GM, and we must honor him by practising our cultivation
